Scarves and Christmas 2012

I'm so glad I took notes last night.  I have to refer back to them to remember all the things I need to put in this post.

Thanks so much Teresa for hosting QT and for the fun project!  I really love it and might make another.  (Lets see if I find occasion to wear this one first.)

We decided on our Christmas project for 2012.  And we have plenty of time to think and create now.

Ready?

This year we will do an "Upcycle Christmas Gift".   Wait.  There are rules.

The base of the gift can be purchased (second hand most likely) but you can't spend more than $5 on any supplies that you don't already have.  You could find something from your home if you wanted.
It has to fit in a lunch sack.
It can't take more than 1 day to put together.  You decide what that means.
Asking for supplies from your fellow QT members is encouraged.  If you need a purple button and your button box has NO purple, maybe someone else does.

Finally, I've already mentioned this, bit it bears repeating.  You can't spend more than $5 on the gift.  That means if you spent $4 on the broken desktop clock you want to upcycle, then you only have $1 left for the specific orange paint you wanted to use.  $5 limit.  MAX.

We are going to try to go back to Moondollars next month. It's been awhile since we have had a good burger and sweet potato fries.

AND.....  In April we are planning a QT spa party!  The highlands does group spa parties.  Gayle is going to see if we can customise a quilter spa party.  (If not there are some other great packages available).  Sooo...Right NOW, put it on your calendar!  Friday, April 13 Spa party (I'll get the cost of it to you as soon as we have that ironed out.  We are keeping it around $50/person (but might be a little higher.)  Save your pennies!

The fat quarters are coming along great!  I loved this project the first time and I love it just as much this time.  I'm excited about starting this months.  The challenge this month is to add triangles.  There are lots of ways to do that!

Who still has a poster to bring to the poster project??  We need another one going I think.  I imagine that Deb's Starry Night poster will be done (or nearly done) next month.  Lets start the next one!

Come to think of it.  We are running out of posters.  There are only a few left.  Maybe we should be brainstorming the next fun project?  Think about it till the next QT!!

See you all in a month!
